Haircut

Me got a hair cut!! Lookie:

You know you like it...
Silly me

Oh, and i've begun a revamp of my other web page. Just the front end is done, but it's a good beginning. (i think...i hope...) Love to hear what you think; leave a note either hear or in my shout box there.

Save Toby!

SAVE TOBY!

I know i should be disgusted by this (because of the profiting/extortion of animal lovers feelings aspect, not the eating the bunny part), but i can't help but laugh at the pure ridiculousness of it. And how people have bought $17,000 worth of stuff!!!

Stupid animal lovers...

Febuary 30th

Ok, i saw this on Bill's Blog and i seriously am
astounded.

Since there is no February 29th (this year) or February 30th (ever!!*) does your car still get towed if you park in the area?

*Interesting Note On The History of The Month of February

States of Being

I'm pretty sure this is accurate for me, but occasionally i find out i've been to places i don't remember. So, this is accurate as far as i know (which isn't saying much actually...)

bold the states you've been to, underline the states you've lived in and italicize the state you're in now...

Alabama / Alaska / Arizona / Arkansas / California / Colorado / Connecticut / Delaware / Florida / Georgia / Hawaii / Idaho / Illinois / Indiana / Iowa / Kansas / Kentucky / Louisiana / Maine / Maryland / Massachusetts / Michigan / Minnesota / Mississippi / Missouri / Montana / Nebraska / Nevada / New Hampshire / New Jersey / New Mexico / New York / North Carolina / North Dakota / Ohio / Oklahoma / Oregon / Pennsylvania / Rhode Island / South Carolina / South Dakota / Tennessee / Texas / Utah / Vermont / Virginia / Washington / West Virginia / Wisconsin / Wyoming / Washington D.C /

Aimee Mann!

I'm going to see Aimee Mann on the 12th!!!!!! I'm so very psyched! I went down to House of Blues yesterday (i figured out that gas was cheaper that the evil Ticketmaster charges...8 buck per ticket my ass!) and picked up tickets. It's perfect as it gives a rock solid excuse to not go to Monte Carlo Night, and i get to see freaking Aimee Mann! Did i mention how psyched i am?

Blah

Oi. The rain's thankfully stopped for a while, but the National Weather Service predicts it will be back next week. I really need to find a job, considering i now have all this free time on my hands. Problem is that i'm kinda picky w/hours and i really don't want to work weekends. I'll figure out something.

I'm still not quite sure why i posted this...

In Good Company

Went to go see In Good Company. My came too, and while watched it my brother and his friend saw Consantine. While i don't know about Consantine, In Good Company was pretty good. Solid story, great acting, and lots of bits of (unobnoxious) wisdom.

Getting to the theatre was a riot though. We went to go see them at a theatre in Burbank because it was the closest place that was showing both Consantine and In Good Company at similar times. Well, in the shopping center that the theatre was in, there are 2 other theaters also. Traffic around the shopping center was less than optimal. Plus, we had never been there before, and we timed it to get there just at the start of the movie. I'll leave it to your imaginations to think of the ride from getting off the freeway to our parking space. Also, my mom was driving. All i have to say is that we got there in time to see all the real preview (none of those damn commercials) and had no problems finding seats.

Tomorrow is my soccer team's party in Newport. It should be at the very least interesting. I'm driving though, which is a definite plus. Hopefully this rain will let up enough for us to actually do anything prolonged outside.

Personality and Good Will

As i sit here watching Good Will Hunting on tv, i took a personality test. Here's what me gots:

ENTP - "Inventor". Enthusiastic interest in everything and always sensitive to possibilities. Non-conformist and innovative. 3.2% of the total population.
Free Jung Personality Test (similar to Myers-Briggs)

Now, don't i feel special?

Lompoc

We left late. It rained. We watched Friday Night Lights. We stopped to get lunch at Subway. We got lost. It rained some more. We finally got there. We warmed up. The game started. They scored. We scored. We went to overtime. We got scored again. The ref took forever to blow the final whistle. We won! We got back on the bus. We watched a U2 concert. We watched Mean Girls. We got back to school. We got off the bus. I drove home.

That and their goalie punched Lindsey!

CIF Round 2- next Tuesday vs. California (some school by Norwalk and Downey)

2.17.2005

CIF Tomorrow

Our first CIF game is tomorrow. It's in oh-so-close Lompoc. It's only a measly 4 hour drive. The bus is leaving 8:30 for a 3 o'clock kick off. It should be loads of fun. I'm particularly excited about the prospect of being soaking wet while watching the game. Thank goodness i have a good water proof jacket.

Watch the Sky

I am now obsessed with this new (well new to me actually) Something Corporate song, "Watch the Sky". It's off of the UK (damn Brit's always getting the good stuff) version of their newest album, North. It's seemingly appropriate that my like of this song really hits on a rainy day like today.

Music: duh.
Mood: eh.

Counter

I've added a counter to the site. So, now i can tell exactly how lame i am by having an actual tally of how many times i check for comments and there aren't any.

2.14.2005

Acceptance

Just so i don't get accused of with holding information, i've been accepted at Cal State Long Beach. So now, even if no one else likes me, i'm in at one of my top choice schools. Truthfully it would have been pretty pathetic if i didn't get in, but it's good to know anyway.

2.13.2005

Something Corporate Song

Both Sara and i would have preferred Straw Dog, but i'm not sure it's even an option. Instead i got:

from Which Something Corporate Song Are You?

I've sung it enough times, but never really been on either end of it (at least in the context in which the song sings about it)

Header

So, it's not totally done yet, (some color tweakage, and whatever else i agree w/Bill that needs to be changed), but i've done the header for the newest version of Bill's blog. Go look!

2.12.2005

Dr. Mario

Even though Bill had some great ideas for things for me to do, i still think i've hit an all time low. I'm sitting here, bored, at my computer, at home no less, watching my mother play Dr. Mario on the big screen. And i also am thinking that resetting my high score on my cell's Collapse! is an actual accomplishment. What's happening to me!

Broken Things

So this week has been really weak. Not only am i broken, but now Bill(y) has gone a broken his blog. Now i can't go leave obnoxious comments in my spates of boredom. Pout. Now what am i supposed to do with all this free time i have?!?!?

That said, saw The Life Aquatic tonite. Pretty funny, a particular kind of humor, but funny all the same. Mom thought it was "really stupid," but somehow i expected that. Whatever, she had my cell and it's Collapse! to amuse her. I love the line in the credits saying something like, The makers of this film recognize that the real Steve Zissou is a prominent New York attorney specializing in blah. Can you imagine having a name like Steve Zissou for real? Not just as some Bill Murray character? Well, the guy's kinda funny looking at least.

Music: The Velvet Underground (and other random shuffle)
Mood: Bored

Because i'm bored...another quiz, this one was slightly more interesting than the last, and a hell of a lot shorter too.

You scored as Antisocial Personality Disorder. Congratulations! You have ASPD! You know that blatantly disregarding social norms and the rights of others isn't just illegal; it's FUN. Jail time? Eh, look at Gary Gilmore... was he really that bad of a guy?

Back to LA

It's something like 50º outside and i'd never thought i'd say this, oh my that's warm. Just got back from Boston today, and the trip makes me really appreciate the wonderful warm weather we have here. It didn't get above freezing for most of the trip. When we first got in, i don't think i've ever been colder walking from the airport door to the car, and car to hotel door. So short, but so cold.

Aside from the cold thought the trip was pretty awesome. BU was cool, and i really think my portfolio review went well, (i couldn't tell for sure because i couldn't totally understand the professor, but whatever) and Boston seems like a really cool town. I got to see the the hockey team beat Providence (yay!) in BU's nice, new arena. And i got to see some pretty nice art at the MFA. All in all a pretty good trip. I will be interesting to see if i end up there next year.

1.25.2005

Boston (Tomorrow)

Just want to say oh, my god! I leave in 15 hours i'm not nearly ready. i have no idea what to wear while i'm there (i can't believe i just typed that by the way), and i'm freaking out in so many other ways i can't count them all.

Just need to blab that.

Time till leaving for Boston: 15 hours
Time till my Birthday: 1 day 40 minutes

1.21.2005

We win!!!

Guess who just beat La Cañada 1-0? Hmm....how 'bout us?!?!?!

I can't remember the last time i was this happy about a win. I really can't. It's so awesome. I hate LC so much (for reasons i won't no into here. I'll just say it's mostly attributed to my less than warm fuzzy feelings about a particular person,) and it feels soooo good to stick it to them.

Ok, gloat over.

On a less happy note, i have so much homework/finals prep this weekend that i have no idea how i'm going to get it all done with my work ethic. I'll just have to buckle down and do it. I can do it...i swear...

Days left till Boston: 4

Days till my 18th Birthday: 5

grin.

Boondock Saints

This day, for the most part at least, was pretty crappy.

But, that's not what matters about today. What matters about today is that i finally saw The Boondock Saints. The WHOLE thing! No interruptions, no falling asleep, no dvd play malfunction, and no body changing the movie for a surfing flick; no anything except me Sara and the movie. Grin.

And with that i'm off to bed.

1.10.2005

Running and Revanmping

Added a new piece to my digital art page and rearranged its layout too. Over the next few days (or more likely weeks) I'll be looking to add on strait up pictures page and possibly shots of my conventional art too, so keep an eye out.

Oh, and i just wanted to brag i've gone running completely on my own for both yesterday and today. Go me!

1.08.2005

The LACMA

Went to see the Phillips exhibit today at the LACMA and...wow. Reproductions of those paintings don't even begin to do them justice. I was struck by Degas' Melancholy and i thought all of Pierre Bonnard's (who i had never heard of before) work, Rivera in particular, was amazing. The Monets were as beautiful as expected, and Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party did not disappoint.

Also saw Spanglish with Sara last night. Nice movie. Sweet, doesn't over reach and offers a non-fairy tale ending that vindicates the previous two hours of film.

Oh and taking Which Dysfunctional Care Bear Are You? i some how got:

could someone please explain?

A New Year

So the new year's here and i'm already back in school again. The rest of Mammoth was a blast (particularly Sunday), but thank goodness this week started on Wednesday otherwise i don't think i would have made it thru the week. Hopefully though, with all the stuff i have going on and have to get done this month, the rest of the month will fly by. LACMA this weekend (Renoir's The Boating Party!!!), boarding in the locals the next, and all the while preparing my portfolio for its review on January the 28 in BOSTON!!!!! I'm so excited for that. I sorta scared that i don't have enough "from direct observation" stuff, but i'm trying to remedy that over the course of the rest of the month. All that and i turn 18 the day before the big critique.
